Farm to Consumer Legal Defense Fund at the Market
Know your Farmer.
Know your Food.
Today, more than ever before, our society is seeking ways to live more conscientiously. In the race to see which multinational corporation can create the biggest, fastest and cheapest ‘food’, we have created a serious disconnect between our nutritional requirements and where and how our food is produced. Our health and that of the planet have paid the price. Today, we know that having direct relationships with farmers and understanding the origin of the food we consume have never been more important.
This Sunday, November, 12th from 10-2pm, the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund will join us at OTFM@Distillery 244. Celebrating their 10th year, this great organization protects the rights of farmers and consumers to engage in direct commerce; it protects the rights of farmers to sell the products of the farm and the rights of consumers to access the foods of their choice from the source of their choice. FTCLDF helps its members navigate the local, state, and federal regulatory environment. As a true grassroots organization, FTCLDF receives no government funding and little or no corporate funding.
Stop by their booth and learn more about their impact. They will have a selection of "Who's Your Farmer?" t-shirts and a variety of books available for purchase. Membership is open to consumers, farmers, artisan food producers, homesteaders, affiliate food buying clubs and co-ops.
