Old Town Farmers' Market

  • Farm and Art Plaza 835 E 1st Wichita, KS 67202 USA (map)

Please join us at our last outdoor Market of 2018 this Saturday from 8 to noon for a Community Potluck and Fundraiser! Let’s celebrate the cool fall weather and commemorate the end of a bountiful outdoor growing season by sharing a meal together. Bring your favorite dish (and serving utensils) to share with OTFM vendors and the community. The Market will provide paper goods and the amazing, friendly atmosphere we all know and love. Donations will benefit the continuation of our food nutrition assistance programs.

Recently, the USDA changed contracted organizations, which put nutrition assistance programs in jeopardy at Farmers’ Markets across the country. We must now purchase new, expensive processing equipment as well as cover the costly operating expenses if we are to continue these vital programs in 2019.

These programs have been a real success at OTFM, benefiting not only the recipients but also having a huge impact on farmer sales, the economy, public health interests, city government, and the community. Thanks to the combined efforts of Sunflower Health PlanFarmShop LLCHealth & Wellness CoalitionYMCA Community Development, and area Markets, the Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB) incentive program increased nutrition assistance sales at Old Town Farmers' Market from $675 in 2017 to over $10,000 to date this year in fresh, locally produced food.

We hope you will bring your family and friends and join us for our last outdoor market before we move indoors to Wave on November 11th. This is a great chance to spend some meaningful time with each other, eat some great food, and help support your OTFM community.

NOTE: SNAP and DUFB will continue through December 16th at our indoor Market at Wave.

10-12: Live music featuring Harrison Steele
